West Lake Hills
West Lake Hills sits in the heart of Bellevue and has easy access to the best that the city has to offer. The neighborhood was originally developed in the 1950s and was the Northwest’s first "planned community.” Since then, West Lake Hills has remained a quiet residential community where families can grow. As many homes approach the half-century mark, some areas of the neighborhood are going through redevelopment while others are preserving their original charm. Much of the neighborhood is adjacent to the Lake Hills Greenbelt, a large wetland preserve with an extensive trail system ideal for viewing local wildlife.
The West Lake Hills neighborhood has a large international population, and more than 40 percent of students in the area’s public schools speak a first language other than English. This offers a unique opportunity for children to grow up in a tolerant, culturally diverse setting. West Lake Hills is also home to Bellevue Community College, which serves over 20,000 full- and part-time students.
